We found the solar panel a little more difficult to construct than the windmill, but it was well worth the effort, and Earth4Energyreally explains how to do this really well.

This was a little more expensive than constructing the windmill, maybe ($150). The solar panel system will take the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity. It can then be hooked up to your household grid and be used to power the appliances in your home. What’s even better is that if you ever generate excess energy from the windmill or solar panel system, most utility companies allow you to sell the excess energy back to them.

Hey Michael.. Thanks for such a detailed guide. I'm usually no good at DIY projects but this is actually quite easy.

I just finished making my first solar panel today. It cost me next to nothing compared to a pre made unit! I'm going to start my 2nd panel this weekend using some left over cells. Thanks for all the help!

All 43 of the "solar newbies" were able to create a well polished solar panel that generated enough electricity to run some household appliances!

Solar panels do seem complicated but when you know the basics of it you will understand just how easy it is to work with. All you really need is a "solar mentor" and that's where I come in.

A few years ago I started looking into solar energy. Just like you, I started with an online search on how I could save money with solar electricity.

I was astounded when I was given a quote of $28,000 for a simple installation on my home. This was simply too much for me to afford and the pay back time was far too long. This prompted me to do some research into how the solar panels are created and how I could make them myself.

I searched and searched online for an easy to follow guide but there just wasn't anything available. You have probably done the same thing and visited the same web sites I did.

All of the web sites and guides I came across had confusing diagrams and they were not very easy to follow. I wanted something that was completely step-by-step.
